How long have you been in business?
I have been taking photographs professionally since 2005. I quit my “real job” in October of 2007 and have been taking professional photographs full time since then.

Do you have a studio?
I don’t have a traditional photography studio, I work on location for photoshoots. I edit from my home in Monticello and I'm answering e-mails from my phone more often than not! I do have an office space to meet with clients in Manor @ Midtown in Tallahassee. It's a small, cozy space where I show you your images and we order prints, design albums together and chat about your portraits. It's a great way to experience your images!

When do I pay for my Portrait Session?
At the session. Please bring a check or cash. If you want to pre-pay for your session, that’s fine too. You can mail me a check or I take VISA, MasterCard or Discover over the phone or I can send you an invoice.

Where do you take photos? Can you come to my house ? It’s not very fancy and my backyard isn’t very pretty!
I can come to your home if you like, or we can meet at many of the beautiful parks around Tallahassee. We can meet at the Central Park at Southwood, Dorothy Oven Park, Maclay Gardens, the Chain of Parks downtown, Tallahassee Nurseries, or at the beach and all points in-between. I've even done portrait sessions at Railroad Square if you want an off-beat urban feel with lots of color and funky rusted cars, etc. I don't usually charge a travel fee - we can discuss that further if you want to do your session outside the Tallahassee area.
I love to take photos in your home, too! Through creative photography, selective focus, and expert framing, I can make your house look incredible. Light is important, so we should have a conversation about your windows and which way your house faces when you book your session.

I love black and white photos, do you do that?
Oh yes! I love black and white photos, too. I take all photos in color, then convert some of my favorites from your session to black & whites so you can see them in your Premier. Any other photos you would like to see in black and white I can do that during your Premier, and you can order any photo in the Premier or on-line in color, black & white or sepia tone.

How long does it take to see the images and how many will I see?
I will contact you within 2 weeks to set your Premier. How many you will see depends on a lot, but normally I will show you anywhere from 35 to 50 images, fully edited.

When does the on-line gallery go up?
Your on-line gallery will be live the night of your Premier or the next morning. The gallery is up for 30 days. There is a $15 fee to reactivate your one-line gallery after the 30 day period is up.

When do I pay for my order?
You will need to pay for your products ordered in full at the Premier. If your order is especially large, I can set up a payment plan for you. On-line orders are paid at the time you place your order with a debit or credit card.

How long does it take to get my prints?
Prints will be delivered to you in approximately two weeks, albums, and framed prints take about 4-6 weeks. If you need things *faster, please let me know.
*Rush fees may apply.

Do you have birth announcements?
Yes! I custom design birth announcements, birthday invitations, thank you cards, and holiday cards. I have samples of them all and we can talk about what you need at your Premier. Minimum order of 25, prices vary.

Can you just put my pictures up on the Internet? I’m so busy!
There are several reasons that I have an ordering session. First, I crop images the way I think they look best. But you may have a different idea and with software and my overhead projector, you can see all the possibilities for a photo.
I also have an extensive line of products, and telling you about it on the phone would:
(a) Take a lot of time.
(b) Would be very difficult to explain & understand over the telephone.
(c) Not all products are available for sale on-line.
The experience of the Premier is not one to be missed. I encourage you to be super comfy, my space is very cozy and my sofa is fabulous.

What if I have to cancel or reschedule my Portrait Session or Premier?
No problem! Stuff happens. Please call within 24 hours if at all possible and we’ll figure something out. If the weather is looking bad for the portrait session, I’ll call you (or you can call me) and we’ll see what works.

Can you remove acne, scars and tattoos in photos?
Yes, I can! Sometimes if there is extensive editing needed there may be an additional charge. Please check your kids carefully for temporary tattoos and remove them with baby oil or alcohol before your portrait session.

Can I have an image for my Facebook page?
Sure! I'm happy to talk about 'sneak peeks" and images for use on Facebook.

Do you sell the digital images?
I sure do. Full resolution images with a copyright release is $75 per image.

Can you take a photo of my dog or cat with my family?
Sure, dogs are family too. Each additional person or pet is $15. If you want a full session with just the pets, consider booking a session with Fur, a division of Robin Adams Photography.

What time of day do you book sessions? Do you book sessions on the weekends?
I book portrait sessions early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Sunrise and sunset are the very best times of day for excellent light, but if we’re indoors, then we might be able to bend that rule a bit. Windows in your home and which way your house faces will determine what time is best. And yes, I book sessions Tuesday through Sunday. Saturdays and Sundays book way in advance, usually 4 – 6 weeks. Please contact me to get on the calendar way in advance.

When should I book my newborn photos?
As soon after he or she is born as possible. I like to take newborn photos when your baby is no more than 7 – 10 days old. Babies very quickly lose the tight, tiny sleepy newborn look, so we want to have the newborn session right after you get home from the hospital. Babies also begin developing baby acne at about 10 days old.

That seems really soon – will the light hurt her eyes? And what about all the company we’ll have over that first week?
It does seem soon and I know your newborn seems especially fragile. That’s why I use natural light whenever possible, and we go very slowly and take our time. Company in the house doesn’t bother me a bit & new grandparents always love watching their grandchild's first photo session.
Because I do love to use natural light, I kindly ask that I be the only person taking pictures at our session. The flash on a second camera in an indoor setting can affect the overall light quality in your final images.

How long does a newborn session take?
Newborn sessions are on “baby time”. Whatever the baby needs, baby gets. If she’s hungry, we stop so she can eat. We take lots of breaks for dirty diapers, crankiness, hunger. . . . we’re on her time-table. Most of the time a newborn session takes about two hours, but I allow as much as 3 hours.

Do you have an assistant?
I always have an assistant at weddings who is taking photos at the same time I am, or can assist with the dress, lighting, etc. For portrait sessions, mom and dad are often the assistant.

Do you go to the beach or out of town for sessions?
I sure do. I don’t charge a travel fee for sessions in Leon, Gadsden, Wakulla or Jefferson County. Sessions booked for counties outside that area is a flat $50 travel fee. Watch for special promotions at the beach and other area parks and venues throughout the year.

What if I don’t like any of the photos?
All of my work is 100% guaranteed. I’ll either schedule a second shoot (I’d really like another chance if you’re willing) , or I will refund your money. No questions asked. I want you to be happy with your photos from Robin Adams Photography.

Can I order more photos later?
Absolutely! Images will be archived and images can be reactivated for 30 days for $15. All prices are subject to change, though, so I would try to order as soon after your Premier as possible.

Do you do studio portraits?
Studio work is not my specialty. I love using natural settings and wherever possible, natural light. We live in a beautiful area with many diverse settings and our weather is excellent 9 months of the year. It’s just too wonderful not to celebrate.

But I really want studio pictures.
I would be happy to send you to one of several photographers in Tallahassee who do amazing studio portraits.

What other kinds of photography do you do?
I photograph children from birth to 18 years, families, some product photography, food photography, couples, weddings, and fine art photography. I have just opened a division of Robin Adams Photography called Fur. Check it out here www.furbyrobinadams.com

Are you married? Do you have kids? Where do you live?
No, I’m not married, no kids (I just photograph them) and I live in Monticello. I have Fur Children, Sophie my puppy, and two full grown cats (both rescues, of course), Valentine and Oscar. I’m 40 years old and I have lots of other interests. . . check out my blog posts here or at Fur and you can learn all about what I love to do!
